Ambassador Haley selects Barbara Ernst Prey’s painting Gallantly Streaming I for exhibit at the U.S. Mission’s Office at the United Nations during the presidency of the Security Council in April 2017.
Concurrently, Gallantly Streaming II reunites with its partner painting across the street from the UN where it is on exhibit in the lobby of the U.S. Mission. Also on view at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations are two other signature Prey paintings, Parade Route and Patriot, selected by Ambassador Haley for the Ambassador Suite.
These watercolors belong to one of Prey’s most recognizable series, which was created in the days and months after the 9/11 attacks in New York City.
“I am honored that my paintings from my “9/11 series” were selected by the U.S. Mission to the United Nations for exhibit and that one is currently exhibited at the United Nations. As a Presidential Appointee to The National Council on the Arts, the Advisory Board to the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) I am very involved in supporting the arts in America.”
